  i just came across this link advertising an award dinner by the canadian bar association.. http://www.cba.org/cba/news/2004_releases/2004-08-17_probono.asp.

  it announces shane brady of georgetown (bethelite) as the winner of the probone award for 2004. i'll let the announcement speak for itself.. .

  what burns me is that the brady is on a vow of poverty, and gets his marching orders from bethel.

  You know that makes me sick. You are correct they are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites. Growing up we were always told to not apply ourselves toward a higher education and to put "kindum" interests first. As many of us experianced we fell for their BS dreams and put our education on hold, for what? Broken dreams and crap jobs. Seems like as long as your willing to go along with the company line and defend pedofiles it is alright. My 2 cents worth... Kiss my butt you WT Hypocrates.

  Christopher Reeves Dies...

  i was just watching some television show and they were advertising a movie directed by christopher reeves about a young girl that was paralyzed, and overcame many obstacles.

  i thought that was just awesome that he had directed a movie.

  then i got a mail on cnn breaking news that he had died... how very very awful.... <sob>`superman' star christopher reeve dies .

  Even though he wasn't well, it was a real shock. Chris had such a postive attitude and a love for life. He will be dearly missed. Hopefully his legacy won't be for nothing.

  Thank you Chris for entertaining us and rest in peace.

  WoMD ... so where are they?

  now, the war is over, the weapons were not used and of course have not been found.. how threatening could they be if they did not even use them when being invaded by a massive force (of the countries they hate)?!

  perhaps, as many suspect, they didn't use them because they didn't have them?.

  now we're being told that we'll have to be patient and give them time to find them.

  I recall how the UN was trashed by those that supported the War because they said they were not doing their job and buying Saddam's lie's. As it goes on the issue of WoMD, Saddam was telling the truth, Iraq didn't posses WoMD, the weapons inspections were working and it was Bush and Blair that were the liars. Was it worth all the American, British and Iraqi live? I know all you that supported the war will still justify it in your minds but try justifing that to all those that lost loved ones over a lie. As Abaddon said above, "we could have hopefully done it smarter and better by involving more Arabic countries so that they were seen as heading a 'police-action' to allow a dictator with human-right violations to be deposed by an oppressed populace with outside help."

  WT WARNING EXAMPLES: Anybody see this video?

  warning examples for our times was a wt release video that came out a couple of years ago.

  at the times i was given it to watch so i could know the seriousness of my daughter marrying an unbeliever (any of you who have heard my story know she had never become a believer herself, so technically was an unbeliever too, thus not qualified to marry a believer either, but made guilty by association with the jws--catch 22 situation).

  anyway, the video horrified me at the time.

  I don't recall the video, although I remember seeing this played out at a DC drama.

  One of them brought the pagan woman back into their tent and the high priest drove a tent peg through their groins (so there was of screaming and such)

  Hard to get over: No New System

  i have to tell you something.. i really find it hard getting over the idea of no new system and all that it meant to me.

  to be with my children and their children forever in perfect health.. too many days it just leaves me empty.

  i just wish i could shake it and enjoy life, but the idea that we just live for 70 years and die kills me.

  It is one thing to have a belief system of a future hope but where the WT has failed is not helping us as humans understand and accept our mortality. Growing up my family all believed that we would never experience death. Now as I have gotten older and realized it was all a dream have to accept the reality that one day my time will be up. We have to embrace our death and accept it as part of life than move on, otherwise you will be dying every day of your life.
